Today I just ate, a baguette with cheese and smoked salmon.  I cooked diner but I’m not hungry. I think my stomach is getting smaller. I bought coke today because I was craving it and I didn’t end up buying a 2 liter and drink all of it in one that, so I shared with my boyfriend.

Today we ordered so my calorie intake was pretty high, but I still didn’t break the 1500 limit. I’m definitely cooking this weekend. I don’t like how I feel after I eat junk.  I also take pleasure on mounting my plates. When the food looks good on the plate, It’s easier to eat.

This was my dinner today! Delicious! mixed greens, portobello mushrooms and pork chop. Yesterday I ate a lot and I almost blew my calorie budget, but I didn’t feel satisfied. Today I ate less I’m not full but I feel good. I feel light.

I went to the farmers market today so I have more choices. It’s very hard to have a healthy relationship whit food, when I’ve been using it as a drug for so many years. When I get anxious or depressed, I need a lot of self control to not jump over a large pizza. I don’t keep junk at home because it’s easier to resist.

Today was a tough day, I was in a bad mood for no reason. I’ve been craving fatty food, I didn’t cave in but it’s hard. I managed to stay on track, but tomorrow I hope I feel better so I eat better.

Summary of week 1 (Weight loss challenge)

I weighted myself today: 232.8

I lost  0.4 pounds, because I did weight watchers I know I should celebrate the fact that I didn’t gain any weight, and I lost 5 pounds in the test run. What it means is that I have to be careful with what I eat, eat more vegetable and fruits. My challenge last week was to cut off soft drinks and I did! I’m so happy about that because I love coke.

My challenge this week is to reduce my sugar intake to 50 grams a day and replace white sugar with brown sugar. 50 grams is pretty hard to do, I have half of it in the morning with my coffee so I don’t have much for the rest of the day. I think reducing sugar will make a big difference in my diet. 50 gram is the recommended amount, so it’s not to low, it’s the amount of sugar we should get to stay healthy.

I’m feeling a little bit down today.

F for food

F for Food! 

I can’t believe I spent so much time thinking about what I was gonna write about and the answer was right before me. Food! We have a complicated relationship, I love Food, but food doesn’t like me sometimes. Why? Because I get too much of it, when I feel sad, and it’s not healthy for our relationship. I’m working very hard on rebuilding our relationship,it’s hard, but it’s worth it. I’m trying to enjoy it more, go for more quality time and eat only a quantity I need.

1) I keep a food journal : As you know, I write on my blog every day what I ate during the day, it helps me stay on track. Seeing how many calories I put in my body everyday, I make better choices.

2) I prepare my own meals: Ordering food costs a lot, it’s very hard to control the portions and they are mostly fatty and sugary foods.

3) I look for new tasty recipes: It’s hard to eat healthy so it helps when the food taste good. So I try to have fun with it, and discover new flavors.

4) I reduce my portions: I eat in smaller plates when I don’t have salads for dinner, otherwise, I divide my plates in quarters, I put my salad in 2 quarters and the 2 others for meat and starch.

5) I avoid unnecessary calories: I think it’s what helps me the most. When I want to drink some coke or eat something sweet, I ask myself if it’s worth it. I do that also when they offer food or alcohol. I’m not a big fan of alcohol, I prefer water, so I choose water. 🙂

I just got home I went to an indian restaurant for a friend’s birthday. The food was delicious. I only drank water, it really makes a difference, no extra calories, I get to eat more guilt free! Yay!

Today I woke up at 3 PM, so I just had my coffee and didn’t eat anything for ”breakfast”. For dinner I had a cup of rice, some chicken breast and a salad. I had no tomato! I love tomato! It was very hard to eat the lettuce, I added some carrot, some lemon juice and some parsley, it was still not tasty, I think I put too much parsley.

A. made lasagna today, she’s bringing me some tomorrow, so I’m gonna have to be careful. I might go later to the farmers market. My laziness is telling me to stay home… We’ll see who wins. It’s only been three days but I’m getting impatient I wanna see results.. I guess the challenge will be to learn to be patient. It’s a long the plan!
